Rockalina the eastern box turtle was taken from the wild in 1977 and forced to live on a kitchen floor, while being fed cat food until 2025 when she was surrendered to Garden State Tortoise. Suffering from dehydration, a deformed beak and overgrown, curling nails, she couldn’t even open her eyes. After 4 months of rehabilitation at GST, Rockalina made a full, remarkable recovery and her story has reached millions, worldwide.
