Maci Moo showed up in our barn one cold, winter day back in 2022 and never left. His journey of gaining confidence around humans as well as integrating with the rest of the colony has been truly incredible, to say the least.

Over the years, we have had many cats show up on the property temporarily or sporadically, but Maci Moo is the only cat to have stuck around everyday since he first appeared. We have no idea where he came from or how he got here, but we are eternally grateful that he did.

Maci was extremely fearful and borderline feral upon his arrival, always hiding out in the barn. After much patience, persistence and compassion, Maci slowly came around in accepting love from humans and also the other kitties. The relationships he’s formed have been slow progressions, but have blossomed into something so special.

Another big marker in his journey was getting neutered, which allowed those territorial and defense hormones to dissipate and opened the door for his true personality to shine through.

Maci Moo is a prime example that love and patience (and neutering) can go a long way when it comes to feral cats, who are equally as deserving of compassion as any other being.
